Liana’s challenge to shelter her family,
With twelve individuals in her household, Liana felt overwhelmed while searching for a new place to live.
Her family faced numerous rejections from rental applications before a real estate agent decided to reach out to her.
Property manager Sophie Bridges accepted the unique challenge of finding a rental property suitable for such a large family.
As a leasing consultant, she understood the process of matching tenants with properties. However, this situation presented new challenges.
“Often, these families have a very limited selection of properties available, based on my experience,” Bridges explained.
“It becomes stressful when only a few properties have enough space to accommodate your needs.”
In Liana’s situation, the family required at least five or six bedrooms to comfortably house everyone. This was not easy to find.
In addition to having limited options, Bridges’s agency manager, Bridget Daly, mentioned that many landlords hesitate to accept large families as tenants.
“Sophie responded quickly upon discovering a rental property that was about to become available online,” Daly remembered.
“She contacted the owners to inquire if she could bring Liana and her family to view the property off-market.”

The family’s rental application was approved, allowing them to move into their new home successfully.
However, many large families still face significant challenges in finding suitable rental housing that meets their needs.
“Have your application prepared in advance, ensuring you’ve covered everything necessary and provided all relevant documents,” Bridges advises.
“This helps us understand your situation better and streamline the process.”
“A cover letter that describes you and your family is also very helpful. It allows us to learn more about you.”
