House sale concerns due to street name,
A four-bedroom house on Bogan Street in Greystanes has caught the attention of potential buyers for its unusual name.
Some prospective purchasers expressed concern about living on a street associated with the Kath & Kim reputation, which made them hesitant.
Agent Karen Beebar from LJ Hooker Greystanes shared a light-hearted moment, saying, “We had people claim they were too classy.”
Fortunately, this wasn’t Beebar’s first experience selling a property on Bogan Street, so she came well-prepared for inquiries.
To address the issue, she cleverly suggested pronouncing it differently: “Bogan Street has been bo-GAHN street,” rhyming it with “yarn.”
She humorously acknowledged that her own name, Karen, didn’t help matters given the memes associated with it.
“It really is a series of comedies,” she noted, adding to the lighthearted atmosphere around the situation.
Despite the amusing name of the street, the house performed exceptionally well at auction, achieving a strong final result.
The property sold for $1.342 million, which is nearly $100,000 above the median house price for the suburb.
This blonde brick house features four spacious bedrooms, making it an excellent choice for a growing family seeking comfort.
The solid timber kitchen includes a gas stove, perfect for culinary enthusiasts, and provides ample space for meal preparation.
Additionally, there are two toilets, which adds convenience for family members and guests alike in this welcoming home.
Parking is generous, accommodating three cars, ensuring plenty of space for family vehicles and visitors without hassle.
Moreover, the property includes a separate office, ideal for remote work or study, enhancing its overall functionality.
Three of the four bedrooms are equipped with built-in wardrobes, providing ample storage and keeping the living spaces organized.
Furthermore, the roof boasts an array of solar panels, which are ideal for reducing energy costs and promoting sustainability.
