Burleigh Heads: The Gold Coast’s Bondi Beach?

Burleigh Heads: The Gold Coast’s Bondi Beach?,

Swim, stroll, shop, snack, and repeat. This is the unspoken mantra of Burleigh Heads, a haven for Gold Coast locals.

Many have drifted south in search of quieter shores. This suburb offers a delightful blend of beachside bliss and investment rewards.

Sand infiltrates every corner of life here. However, that’s part of Burleigh Heads’ unique charm and magic that draws people in.

Mornings often begin with paddleboarding on glassy waters. Alternatively, jogging along the iconic headland is a popular activity for many.

After surfing, enjoying a coffee at a sunny café becomes another cherished ritual. If you’re fortunate, ocean views may accompany you home.

The Gold Coast’s version of Bondi Beach.

Beneath the relaxed vibe of Burleigh Heads lies a thriving hub for entrepreneurs, creatives, and savvy investors seeking luxury amenities.

Nearby, residents enjoy access to private schools, world-class healthcare, and two international airports, enhancing the appeal of the area significantly.

Moreover, the real estate market is diverse and vibrant. Carol Carter from Queensland Sotheby’s notes, “There’s something for everyone here.”

From beachfront apartments to stunning multimillion-dollar homes, options abound. For instance, consider The Palms, located just 400 metres from the shore.

This property exudes a Palm Springs vibe and has become a cool destination. Interestingly, it’s home to star couple Bec and Lleyton Hewitt.

Carter mentions that Burleigh is frequently referred to as the “Bondi Beach of the Gold Coast.” This reputation comes with soaring property prices.

According to Domain’s latest House Price Report, the median house price has increased by 75.4 percent in just five years.

Currently, the median price has reached an impressive $1.4 million, reflecting the growing demand in the area.

“At first, affordability attracted many people to Burleigh,” Carter explains. “However, as word spread, prices began to climb significantly.”

This surge has transformed Burleigh into a hotspot for affluent buyers. They seek both sophistication and sun-soaked simplicity in their lifestyle.

Style, sunshine, and peace

Brooke Simmonds, a lifelong Gold Coaster, has called Burleigh Heads her home for the past 15 years.

She balances her work as a part-time PE teacher and freelance interior stylist with family life.

Together with her husband, they transformed their original brick house into a charming home called Burleigh Bungalow.

Here, they have happily raised their family under the shade of swaying palms, enjoying their community fully.

“Burleigh has everything – the beach, a creek, bush tracks, cafes, bars, breweries, and beautiful design stores,” Simmonds says enthusiastically.

“We spend our weekends exploring local markets, kayaking, fishing on the water, or biking through the parks nearby.”

This outdoor lifestyle has significantly shaped our children’s lives, from their baby years to their teenage adventures.

Their favorite dining spots include Tarte bakery, known for its delightful European treats, and Local, famous for juicy steaks.

Additionally, they love Light Years for delicious Asian fusion dishes. For a sweet finish to their meals, they always choose Scoop Gelati.

Moreover, a new tram line extension is set to bring gems like The Little Plate closer to the community.

As a result, life in Burleigh Heads is becoming even sweeter and more enjoyable for residents and visitors alike.
